The temporary one-way streets created in East Cambridge in February after being narrowed by snow return to their two-way traffic pattern as of Wednesday. The affected streets include Otis, Thorndike, Hurley, Fifth and Sciarappa. Crews are to begin removing “Do Not Enter” signs today throughout the neighborhood.

This coincides with the beginning of the city’s monthly street cleaning operations.

“We appreciate the support that we received from East Cambridge residents in observing the temporary one-way streets this winter,” said Joseph Barr, director of the Traffic, Parking and Transportation Department. “The street-cleaning operations that will occur this Wednesday and Thursday in the neighborhood should facilitate residents repositioning their vehicles parked on the affected streets so that they are facing in the appropriate direction.”

Beginning April 13, parked vehicles facing the wrong way will be ticketed.
