From the Cambridge Community Development Department, April 5, 2017: A free open house event highlighting services and programs offered in Cambridge to address a range of housing needs will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 29 in the cafeteria of the Cambridge Rindge and Latin School, 459 Broadway, Mid-Cambridge, co-hosted by the Housing Division of the city’s Community Development Department and the city’s Human Rights Commission.

Representatives from dozens of city agencies and nonprofit organizations that provide affordable housing; homelessness, eviction and foreclosure prevention services; landlord/tenant mediation; first-time homebuyer resources; enforcement of housing discrimination laws; and more will be available to meet with participants.

There will be short presentations and panel discussions throughout the event on topics including fair housing laws and basic tenant rights; how housing voucher programs work; first-time homebuyer resources; and asthma and lead poisoning prevention.
