From the Community Development Department, May 25, 2017: There will be an information session next week for HomeBridge, a program that gives financial help to first-time Cambridge homebuyers, according to the Housing Division of the Community Development Department.

For qualified applicants, HomeBridge offers financial assistance up to half of the purchase price for three-bedroom units; 45 percent of the price for two-bedroom units; and 40 percent for one-bedroom units.

Qualified applicants must live in Cambridge now or have an adult family member who works full-time in Cambridge. They must earn no more than 120 percent of the area median income, adjusted for household size, and they must be able to get a conventional, fixed-rate mortgage. The information session will be at 6 p.m. June 12 in the second-floor conference room of the City Hall Annex, 344 Broadway, Mid-Cambridge.
