Union Square Neighborhood Council reports on progress over green line development talks
The Union Square Neighborhood Council will hold a community meeting from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Argenziano School, 290 Washington St., Union Square, Somerville, to report on its progress in seven-month negotiations with US2, the master developer for the Union Square Redevelopment Project.
“Some progress has been made toward an agreement, but much remains to be agreed upon between the two parties,” said Bill Cavellini, co-chairman of the council.
The project covers 15 acres around the new Union Square Green Line station, where 2.4 million square feet of development will cost at least $1.5 billion to complete over the next 15 to 20 years, Cavellini said.
