A fatal industrial electrocution early Tuesday is under investigation, Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Cambridge police commissioner Christine Elow said.

At 8:25 a.m., police responded to Bent Street in Cambridgeโ€™s Kendall Square โ€“ across from the cityโ€™s police station โ€“ for a report that a man had been electrocuted. First responders found a 44-year-old Sturbridge man on the ground and began life-saving measures before taking him to Massachusetts General Hospital at 8:45 a.m., where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The man was working on an emergency lighting conduit as a subcontractor at an AT&T facility at 250 Bent St., officials said. Scanner reports suggested the incident took place on the buildingโ€™s second floor, in a data center.

  1. No one should die at work. local bosses have killed far too many people in recent years through their negligence. It is completely unacceptable.
