The big Kendall Square space used by the Evoo and Za restaurants is already on the market for a June vacancy for when Colleen and Peter McCarthy and Steve Kurland shut down operations: June 1 for the fine-dining Evoo and June 14 for the pizza restaurant, according to a post on social media.

“The time is right with our lease and we’re looking forward to slowing down a bit and enjoying more time with our families,” the partners said April 30, in news first reported by Marc Hurwitz on his Boston Restaurant Talk site.

The 26-year-old Za restaurant in East Arlington will stay open after the Cambridge closings, the partners said. Evoo started in Somerville at the same time, then moved in 2010 to its space at 350 Third St., fronted by a Za branch. Together they seat 227 people indoors and another 148 on the patio.

The Graffito leasing firm said it is working with the owner to sell the restaurants’ assets and find a replacement “strong and experienced restaurant operator” tenant, including for a long-term lease and possibly by subdividing the full 6,530 square feet. Tours have begun at “this highly visible, marquee corner at Third Street and Broad Canal Way,” Graffito said in a marketing brochure. With the assets, the “well-maintained” space could be a turnkey opportunity, the marketers said.

In other news: The Thirsty Scholar has closed at 70 Beacon St., Ward 2, Somerville, and has a new concept prepared to move in starting in the fall called Tall Order, described as a cocktail bar and “modern American” restaurant by Daren Swisher and Joe Cammarata of Boston’s Daiquiris & Daisies. They hope to keep the Scholar’s late hours, they told Boston.com. The deal to take over from its owners for the past two years for a business open since the 1990s came courtesy of the Corbett Restaurant Group, which recently oversaw a turnover in ownership at Colette Wine Bistro, 1924 Massachusetts Ave., Porter Square, Cambridge.

And also reported by Hurwitz: Cocktail bar Darling is coming to 464 Massachusetts Ave., Central Square, Cambridge, the former Mary Chung Restaurant; Jahunger is bringing Uyghur cuisine to Brookline Street in Cambridgeport; and Posto, at 187 Elm St., Davis Square, Somerville, since 2009, is moving to that city’s Assembly Row development.
