A few weeks ago I tried a croffle โ€“ the inventive treat from Ten One Tea House that uses croissant dough to make waffles โ€“ and it was delicious. But as much as I love creative combinations, sometimes I just want a regular croissant. PRB Boulangerie is a good spot for that: Itโ€™s about as classic as it gets, with baguettes and macarons alongside various pastries in Parisian-inspired interiors. As I guessed it would be in such a setting, the croissant was just about perfect. The outside was flaky, the inside had super thin, buttery layers and it had a satisfying chew while still feeling light. My only complaint was that it seemed ever so slightly undercooked, like it couldโ€™ve been a little crispier and more golden brown. The PRB Boulangerie croissant may not be the singular best croissant in Camberville, but I would say itโ€™s definitely up there as a top contender.ย
