Toughening energy-use laws

Building Energy Use and Disclosure Ordinance regulations, noon to 1 p.m. Thursday. A chance to learn more about the development of language for the next round of changes to laws intended to move nonresidential property owners toward environmentally friendly (but often expensive) energy use. A 30-day public comment period has been underway since Wednesday.ย  The committee meets at City Hall, 795 Massachusetts Ave., Central Square. Televised and watchable by Zoom videoconferencing.

Economic Development & University Relations Committee, noon to 2 p.m. Thursday. This committee run by city councillor Paul Toner talks about the economics of real estate โ€“ โ€œhousing, zoning and the economic impact of zoning proposals,โ€ as the meeting notice puts it.
