A man told police Friday that he was shot at in an incident at around 1 p.m. Friday near Danehy Park in Neighborhood 9, police said. Itโ€™s the second similar incident in the area within three weeks.

One gunshot was heard and two men wearing black were seen running on Garden Street toward Bay State Road by a person who called police, according to scanner reports; when officers talked to a man who waved them over on Bay State Road at around 1:10 p.m,, he said heโ€™d been shot at. There are no reported injuries, police said in a 3:27 p.m. email.

Officers on the scene found physical evidence of gunfire near Field Street near Corporal Burns Road, police said in the email. They were exploring whether the shooter left behind a car.

There may be roads closed in the area for an investigation that โ€œis active and ongoing,โ€ police said.

Itโ€™s the 13th gunfire incident of the year in Cambridge. The most recent previous incident was not far away at 372 Rindge Ave. in North Cambridge on Nov. 22, when gunfire was heard at around 2:10 p.m. from three people seen on video chasing a red Lexus speeding away on the sidewalk on the wrong side of the road.

  1. Still no CCTV cameras because, according to so many of you, it invades one’s privacy. Total bs.
There is no right to privacy when you are in public on Cambridge streets.

Is it going to take a Mangione situation before this city wakes up?
