Department of Public Health, 4:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday. Everyone 6 months and older can get free vaccines this fall. More clinics are Friday, next Wednesday and Oct. 30 at various locations. Bring an insurance card if you have one to the King Open School, 850 Cambridge St., Wellington-Harrington, and wear layers.

City Council election forum
City Council forum, 7 to 8 p.m. Friday. A coalition invites Cambridge residents to an educational online forum with City Council candidates talking about such things as lowering emissions, transitioning energy away from fossil fuels and increasing climate resilience. Sponsors include 350 Mass Cambridge-Somerville, Mothers Out Front Cambridge, Communities Responding to Extreme Weather, the Old Cambridge Baptist Church, First Parish in Cambridge Environmental Justice Team, Elders Climate Action, Third Act and Green Cambridge. Urban Forest Master Plan update
Health & Environment Committee, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday. This committee run by city councillor Patty Nolan talks about an update to the Urban Forest Master Plan – meant to keep trees alive and add grow more canopy to help deal with the coming heat of climate change – and the plan in place now, including any adjustments that have been or might be made before an update. Basta Pasta and a Turing test?
License Commission, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday. Is Urban Hearth expanding from North Cambridge or moving? Is the Turing Tavern closing in Inman Square? Urban Hearth is on the agenda to accept the transfer of the Turing license at Turing’s address, 1281 Cambridge St., Inman Square. Nothing else was known at press time. Basta Pasta prepares to open in the former Western Market convenience store at 319 Western Ave., Riverside, open until 3 a.m. all days with mainly takeout but room for 19 – and nothing costing more than $21. Labs and offices in Kendall
Planning Board, 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. Details arrive for 105 Broadway St., Kendall Square, in which Boston Properties accommodates a lease renewal by the life-sciences company Thermo Fisher and changes plans for two lab and office buildings, reallocating 145,000 square feet of space from 250 Binney St. (We wrote about it here.) The developer says it is responding to changes in demand and requirements for commercial space “in flux from systemic changes to work behavior that have persisted” from the Covid pandemic. This committee run by city councillor Patty Nolan takes on energy planning, including expanding electricity capacity and renewable production, the return of talk about Building Energy Use Disclosure Ordinance requirements and thermal network planning – and, Nolan says, “any other topics relevant to the city’s overall planning for ensuring city goals of electrification may be met.” The committee meets at City Hall, 795 Massachusetts Ave., Central Square. This committee run by vice mayor Marc McGovern picks up zoning petitions for Massachusetts Avenue (including up to 12 stories of residential uses along its length, and up to 18 stories of residential in Porter Square in exchange for increased open space requirements and minimum retail density) and Cambridge Street (including up to eight stories of residential uses along its length, and up to 10 stories in parts of Inman Square; up to 12 in the Webster Avenue and Windsor Street area; and up to 15 stories in the Lechmere area).
