Prosecutors have upgraded the charge against the driver of a truck that struck and killed a 27-year-old woman in Cambridgeport last Oct. 5 to motor vehicle homicide by means of negligent operation.
Drivers facing criminal charges in connection with the deaths of two Cambridge pedestrians last fall have not yet been tried, months after the victims died in separate incidents.
A Cambridge District Court judge refused Wednesday to lift the no-driving order for Daniel Desroche, the truck driver charged with negligent operation in the Oct. 5 death of Jie Zhao, 27, in Cambridgeport.
A central observation station opened late last year at Somerville Hospital, allowing public safety employees to view feeds from more than 400 surveillance cameras at all Cambridge Health Alliance locations and help coordinate responses to emergencies.
The suspect wanted in connection with last night’s non-fatal stabbing on Thorndike Street has been arrested and is due to be charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, police said.
