Rich generously agree to pay more taxes (with added rights)

Salon’s “Great 8: Billionaires who will pay more” shows that a few of the richest folks in America might agree with Warren Buffett to pony up more in taxes — but only if the government can assure them it’ll be spent right!

Hey, billionaires, we would all like to dictate where our tax dollars go. There’s plenty of tax dollars I didn’t want to spend on a war in Iraq, for instance. Can I get it back? Because I’d probably give it to Planned Parenthood and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.

Oh, wait, that’s right: Americans don’t get to decide where their tax dollars go. (Unless you’re extremely wealthy?)

Au contraire. It’s all in how you look at it. Money being fungible, I simply choose which dollars I consider mine based on what they’re paying for. Who’s to contradict me?
