Whether I and others – parents, kids, new riders – will be able to continue to get around Cambridge safely depends on the upcoming City Council election. 

Completing our bike lane network will mean fewer cars during rush hour, less carbon burned and more people who can be active every day because Cambridge has prioritized making a choice available to people of all ages and abilities.

A bike bus is just the first step in growing children into confident urban cyclists and autonomous young adults, followed by using Cambridge’s network of protected bicycle lanes to travel to school, attend sports practice and finally explore their city independently.

The release of a report in March showed a path forward for digital equity and municipal broadband in Cambridge. We strongly urge the city to take this plan and begin work on building a robust network that can serve the city.
