Popster Emeen Zarookian has confirmed: He’s moving to Los Angeles in September. His final Cambridge show (until he visits) is at 10 tonight at Zuzu, with his band Spirit Kid playing with Beach Toys and Beware the Dangers of a Ghost Scorpion.

“It is going to be quite a fun time,” Zarookian said in an email that also introduced his latest video, “Severance,” directed by Avi Paul Weinstein – a song inspired by the layoff that gave a summer of fun to Zarookian, a Beatles and retro pop savant who authenticated “The Beatles: Rock Band” as a Harmonix employee.

He told Vanyaland:

Despite the part of me that just wants to go to the beach every day and do nothing, I actually can’t sit around idle too long … but it occurred to me that maybe I can be productive and go to the beach every day … always! So I am heading for sunnier pastures out west.

The Spirit Kid/Beware The Dangers Of A Ghost Scorpion/Beach Toys is free and 21-plus and starts at 10 p.m. at ZuZu, 474 Massachusetts Ave., Central Square.
