Newly elected vice mayor Marc McGovern is taking three steps to improve communication with the people of Cambridge, his office said Jan. 15:

bullet-gray-small He will hold regular office hours from 9 to 11 a.m. every Monday (except holidays) in the second-floor City Council office at City Hall, 795 Massachusetts Ave., Central Square. Drop-ins are welcome, but half-hour time slot can be scheduled with legislative aide Annie Nagle at anagle@cambridgema.gov.

bullet-gray-small McGovern publishes an email newsletter every week announcing events and meetings taking place in the coming days. โ€œIt is a great way to stay informed,โ€ McGovern said. To sign up for the email or get events or meetings included, email Nagle.

bullet-gray-small McGovern is using a monthly column in the Cambridge Chronicle to answer three questions from citizens, which Nagle will take by email or phone at (617) 349-4280.

โ€œAs always,โ€ McGovern said, he is โ€œavailable and happy to speak with anyone outside of these opportunities.โ€ Just schedule a meeting with Nagle, he said.

    Anyone can contact any councillor and set up a meeting basically anytime. Will the Cambridge Day publish this as news now?
