Free document shredding will be offered from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 12 in front of City Hall, 795 Massachusetts Ave., Central Square, by the Cambridge Consumers’ Council in cooperation with the U.S. Postal Service, Attorney General Maura Healey’s Office and the Department of Telecommunications and Cable.

Members of the public can dispose of personal and confidential paper documents securely and on the spot in a mobile shredding truck. Limited drop-off parking will be available on Massachusetts Avenue and Bigelow and Inman streets.

The council will host two information-sharing events: from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 9 at the Central Square Post Office, 770 Massachusetts Ave.; and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 10 at the Harvard Square Post Office, 125 Mount Auburn St.
