Watch a special council session on coronavirus, and see top officials answer residents’ questions
There’s only one municipal meeting this week: A special 4 p.m. Tuesday session of the City Council to discuss Covid-19 updates from the city manager and his staff. Expected to last two hours, the meeting is intended to keep conversation about coronavirus concerns flowing despite the cancellation of the regular Monday meeting for the Patriots Day holiday. The meeting will be televised and stream online.
There’s no public comment component listed.
But Mayor Sumbul Siddiqui and City Manager Louis A. DePasquale have a separate event planned, with a half-hour presentation intended to play on the city’s 22-Cityview cable and streaming channels (including YouTube and Facebook) to answer residents’ questions “about Covid-19, the city’s response to the pandemic and its impacts on the entire Cambridge community.”
The air time and date hasn’t been revealed, but the officials are taking questions here.
My questions. Why did it take you weeks to hold this informational session? Especially since the Mayors office held a townhall for business WEEKS AGO!
Why are you demanding questions be submitted beforehand? CCTV has the capabilities to take live phone calls.
