Cambridge reports daily on its rate of Covid vaccinations. For the past two months, the city has been reporting that 75 percent of residents have gotten at least one shot. Meanwhile, the rate of positive cases is increasing. Without a higher vaccination rate, those unable to be vaccinated (those who are immunocompromised or under 12 years old, for example) are being put at risk. What is our city and department of public health doing to reach those who are hesitant to get vaccinated? Why is our city manager not following the lead of other cities and doing more to stop the spread of covid?
