NOTICE OF REVISED TIER CLASSIFICATION

10-20 Moulton Street

Cambridge, Massachusetts

MassDEP Release Tracking Number 3-30223

A release of oil and/or hazardous materials has occurred at this location, which is a disposal site as defined by M.G.L. c. 21E, § 2 and the 2019 Massachusetts Contingency Plan (MCP), 310 CMR 40.0000. To evaluate the release, a Phase I Initial Site Investigation was performed pursuant to 310 CMR 40.0480. The site was initially classified as Tier I in accordance with the 2009 MCP Numerical Ranking System. Since the submittal of the Phase I and Tier Classification report in 2013, comprehensive assessment and response actions have been completed. The results of these response actions have reduced the overall risks at the site and are discussed in Phase IV Remedy Implementation Plan Status reports. The reduction in risks since 2013 and the changes in the 2014 MCP requirements for Tier Classification allows for changes in classification for the site. The next Phase IV RIP Status report and Revised Tier Classification and Extension Request will be submitted on or about February 6, 2024. Therefore, in accordance with 310 CMR 40.0520(2) and 40.0530(3), the classification for the site is being downgraded from Tier I to Tier II. To obtain more information on this site, please contact Jarrod Yoder at Haley & Aldrich, Inc. located at 465 Medford Street, Suite 2200, Boston, Massachusetts, 02129 or by phone at 617.886.7400

The MCP reports that have been submitted can be viewed on MassDEP’s website using Release Tracking Number (RTN) 3-30223 at http://public.dep.state.ma.us/SearchableSites2/Search.aspx or at MassDEP, Northeast Regional Office, located at 150 Presidential Way, Woburn, MA 01801.
