A standardized test debated for more than a quarter-century gets an online-only forum Thursday that will try to pack a lot into a mere hour and a half.

After a brief history of the Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System, the forum will open up to hear from teachers, students, parents and community members about how standardized testing has affected them, organizers said. The free community discussion sounds even broader when described by organizers as “the impact of 25-plus years of MCAS, standardized testing and education reform.”

Organizers include the Cambridge Retired Educators United, Cambridge Education Association, Educators of Color Coalition, Citizens for Public Schools, Our Revolution Cambridge and the Cambridge Residents Alliance, according to a mailing.

The virtual forum runs from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday. Register here for the Zoom link. Registration is expected to be open up to the time of the forum.
