The Cambridge Rindge and Latin boys’ lacrosse team (3-4) won both its games last week, including a 13-5 defeat of Wayland on Thursday, the first time the Falcons have notched a victory against Wayland. Cambridge also defeated Medford on Saturday, 10-6.

In the defeat of Wayland, captain Owen Goldstein scored four goals, assisted on two others and had seven ground balls. Xander Whitters added three goals, Eli Postal scored his first varsity goals, and Eliot Burke and Quentin Maucher also scored. The defense, which included Manu Levy, Max Batchelor, Nico Morway, and Ellis Anderson, held Wayland to one goal in the second half. Against Medford, Whitters scored five goals, Burke netted four, and Postal added one more. 

Girls’ lacrosse: The girls’ lacrosse team (3-8) won one of three games last week, losing to Lincoln-Sudbury on April 28, 19-1, and Wayland on Thursday, 17-0. On Saturday, the Falcons defeated Gloucester, 9-3. In that victory, Ella Schoenau scored five goals and Freddie Funck had four assists.

Baseball: After losing to Newton April  27, the baseball team bounced back with three consecutive wins to improve to 10-2. The Falcons defeated Lincoln-Sudbury on April 29, 6-4, Wayland on Saturday, 9-6, and Waltham on Monday, 6-5. 

Oliver Henke threw a complete game against Lincoln-Sudbury, walking only one batter, and gave up two earned runs to improve to 3-0. At the plate, he had a hit, a walk and two runs. Hugo Davis went 2-for-3 and also scored two runs. 

The Falcons made a dramatic comeback against Wayland. The team trailed 6-3 entering the bottom of the fifth, but scored six runs to take the lead. The go-ahead run was plated on a bases-clearing double by Josh Silber, who went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs. Henke was 2-for-4 with two doubles and three RBIs. 

On the road against Waltham, the score was tied entering the seventh inning. Davis led off the inning with a single, advanced to third on a double by Joel Rojas-Cruz, and scored the go-ahead run on a wild pitch. Rojas-Cruz pitched a scoreless seventh to earn the save. At the plate, he went 3-for-4 with a double and three RBIs. Davis was 3-for-4 with an RBI, and Henke hit a triple and a double. 

Softball: The softball team split its four games, defeating Everett on April 28, 14-13, losing to Lincoln-Sudbury on April 29, 23-9, falling to Wayland on Friday, 10-9, and defeating Waltham on Monday, 18-11. 

Against Everett, the Falcons were trailing by one run entering the bottom of the seventh, but won on a walkoff single by Marin Albrecht, plating Caroline Orr. Eleanor Holleran scored the tying run on a passed ball. Albrecht went 3-for-5 with an inside-the-park home run and three RBIs. Holleran was 3-for-4 with a home run, two doubles, and two RBIS. Orr went 3-for-4 with an inside-the-park home run and two RBIs. 

Against Lincoln-Sudbury, Marianna Jimenez went 3-for-4 with an RBI, and Holleran added two hits. Wayland scored eight runs in the bottom of the sixth to come back from seven runs down. Jimenez had two hits and two RBIs, and Holleran had two hits and one RBI. In the defeat of Waltham, Albrecht and Bronwyn Johnson each went 4-for-4 with three RBIs. Jimenez was 2-for-4 with four RBIs, and Hollerant went 2-for-4 with three RBIs. 

Boys’ volleyball: The boys’ volleyball team (8-5) defeated Lincoln-Sudbury in straight sets on April 28 (25-13, 25-20, 25-22) and again in straight sets defeated Westford Academy on April 29 (25-20, 25-20, 25-15). Against Lincoln-Sudbury, Brennan Loud had 9 kills, Will Ochsendorf tallied eight kills, and Nat O’Connell added six more. Against Westford, Loud had 16 kills, hitting .842. Bruce Toledo added seven kills, and Matthew Valentin had three kills and three blocks. 

Girls’ track: At the MSTCA Division 1 Relays on Saturday, the Cambridge Rindge and Latin girls’ 4×800-meter relay team of Neva Hartman, Naomi Baldwin, Fiona Litman, and Sophia Juanes-Seto finished first with a time of 9:38.36. In a dual meet against Westford Academy on April 29, the Falcons lost, 92-53. Baldwin finished first in the 200 meters (26.66) and the 400-meter hurdles (1:08.07). Leah Hogan won the 400 meters (1:05.30), and Hartman took first in the 800 meters (2:24.75). In the one-mile run, Juanes-Seto was the first to cross the finish line (5:00.94). Patricia Dixon won the triple jump (33-11).

Boys’ track: At the MSTCA Division I Relays, the Cambridge Rindge and Latin boys’ 4×800-meter relay team of Liam Eldridge, Kieran Eichler, Henry Parker, and Leon Ibanez Fraile finished third with a time of 7:59.58. In the dual meet against Westford Academy, the Falcons lost, 84.33-60.67. Jermaine Houston finished first in the 200 meters (24.21), Miel Henry won the 400 meters (51.56), and Parker took the 800 meters (2:02.26). Eldridge won the one-mile run (4:35.46), and Eichler finished first in the two-mile run (9:47.76). In the 110-meter hurdles, Ndee Antoine was the first to cross the finish line (17.69). Laurent Valentin won the long jump (20-11), and Jarehl O’Bannon finished first in the triple jump (41-3). 

Girls’ tennis: The girls’ tennis team lost to Wayland on Friday and Waltham on Monday, both by a score of 1-4. Against Wayland, Avery Fearing won a tough match at third singles, 6-4, 6-4. Against Waltham, Niuniu Chen and Amelie Ramos won at second doubles, 6-0, 6-3. 
Boys’ tennis: The boys’ tennis team lost to Wayland on Friday, 0-5, and Waltham on Monday, 2-3.
