From vice mayor Marc McGovern, Oct. 25, 2016: The inaugural meeting of the first-ever Metro Boston Regional Homelessness Summit taking place from 2 to 5 p.m. Thursday has been moved to the School Committee room at 459 Broadway, Mid-Cambridge. It was originally set to meet at City Hall.

Representatives from the cities of Boston, Somerville, Everett, Chelsea, Medford and Malden will convene in Cambridge to discuss strategy for a unified effort to confront and address homelessness throughout the region, recognizing it’s a regional issue that can’t be left to individual communities to handle piecemeal. Vice mayor Marc McGovern, who organized the summit, goes into detail here on its significance and mission.
