The Cambridge Police Department is asking citizens to participate in its Quality of Service Community Surveys, spokesman Dan Riviello said Friday.

“Citizen responses will help the department as we work to provide the highest quality of police service possible,” Riviello said in a press release.

The surveys, aimed at gauging public perceptions about crime, community initiatives and interactions with city police officers and the department as a whole, take only a few minutes to complete, he said. They can be found on the left side of the department’s website at cambridgema.gov/CPD/Programs/Surveys.cfm.

“Citizen participation in these surveys — based on personal experiences with our police department — will provide valuable insights,” he said, and help the department in its goal of better service to the community.

Police thanked participants in advance, he said. Anyone with questions about the surveys can call the Professional Standards Unit at (617) 349-3384.
