Even for people without a taste for art, this First Monday @ CAC Gallery is likely to be irresistible: At the free Monday reception for “100 from Cambridge: Preview Exhibition for Cambridge Open Studios,” there will be a product tasting of Taza Chocolate, of Somerville.

The exhibition is “a visual appetizer” for the second annual citywide Cambridge Open Studios, a three-weekend event in April and May in which more than 100 artists welcome in the public to see where they create. The reception, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the City Hall Annex at 344 Broadway, just adds a literal element to the “appetizer.”

There will also be a “live performance” Monday, which seems redundant as well as mysterious. Will it be music? Mime? Theater? Acrobatics?

The best way to find out is to attend.

For those who can’t make it the reception, the equally free but also chocolate-free exhibition runs through March 12. For information call (617) 349-4380
