Police are investigating shots fired at about 10:40 p.m. Wednesday outside the Jefferson Park Apartments in North Cambridge.
When they arrived there in response to neighbors’ reports of gunshots, Cambridge Police found “multiple spent shell casings” but no victims, said Dan Riviello, the police department’s director of communications.
A silver or gray minivan was seen fleeing the area, Riviello said.
“All indications at this point in the investigation are that this incident was not random in nature,” Riviello said.
Information from the community is “critical” to solving these types of crimes, police said, and anyone with information is asked to call Cambridge Police at (617) 349-3300.
