Brian Halligan and Craig Wheeler have won a regional entrepreneurial award and are invited to a national-level event in November.

Two Cambridge executives have won regional “Entrepreneur of the Year” designations from Ernst & Young.

The local executives are Brian Halligan, founder and chief executive of Hubspot Inc., of First Street, a maker of marketing software; and Craig Wheeler, president and chief executive of Momenta Pharmaceuticals Inc., of West Kendall Street. They were named at the Boston Renaissance Waterfront Hotel.

They’re part of a group of “outstanding entrepreneurs” selected by judges made up of previous winners of the award, leading CEOs and private capital investors and other regional business leaders, according to Ernst & Young officials.

Next up for Halligan and Wheeler is a national awards gala, to be hosted by Jay Leno on Nov. 12 in Palm Springs, Calif., Ernst & Young officials said.
