A workshop on “Managing Drugs and Alcohol in the Workplace” is open to Cambridge business owners and managers wondering how the state’s legalization of marijuana possession and recreational use will affect them.

There will be a look at how employers in other states have handled legal recreational use of marijuana, as well as drug-testing etiquette and best practices for managing employees who suffer from drug and alcohol abuse. The meeting is facilitated by the Associated Industries of Massachusetts, and co-sponsored by the city’s Community Development Department and Chamber of Commerce.

“This workshop reflects our mission to educate, engage and empower businesses,” said the chamber’s director of government and community relations, Sarah Kennedy, in a press release. “We strive to provide businesses with the resources and information necessary to comply with current state legislation.”

The meeting is from 9 to 11:30 a.m. March 30 at the City Hall Annex, 344 Broadway, Mid-Cambridge. Businesses of all sizes are encouraged to participate, Kennedy said. Registration is free.
