El Jefe’s Taqueria plans to take part in its fifth annual Ben Abercrombie Day on Tuesday, when all proceeds from in-restaurant sales, online orders, delivery orders and tips from 8 a.m. to 4 a.m. go to The Abercrombie Fund, benefiting the first-year defensive player for Harvard football whose very first tackle resulted in a paralyzing spinal cord injury in 2017. The first four Ben Abercrombie Days raised $127,000, said Andrew Chesebro of the Harvard Varsity Club.

It will be the first Ben Abercrombie Day in the relocated El Jefe’s Taqueria; with expected renovations coming to its old spot at The Garage mall, the eatery moved to Harvard Square’s new Abbot building, where it has two entrances: 14 Brattle St. and 7 JFK St,

“I’m excited about the possibilities for this fifth annual Ben Abercrombie fundraiser,” said John Schall, owner of El Jefe’s Taquerias, in a press release. “It will be the first year we have this fundraiser at our new Harvard Square store, which is twice as big as the old store and where we can get people through the line twice as fast. I’m hoping this will help us top last year’s record-breaking fundraiser.“
