Pollinator Action Plan updates

Somerville Pollinator Action Plan Advisory Committee meeting, 4 p.m. Monday. Mayor Katjana Ballantyne created this committee in response to the declining pollinator population in New England. The plan getting an update will: describe Somerville-specific and regional pollinator species, explore pollinator habitat within the city’s network of urban open spaces, educate public servants and residents on the interdependence of pollinators, habitat and resilient urban life an propose ways that public servants and residents can foster Somerville-appropriate pollinator habitat. Disabilities commission’s role

Somerville Commission for Persons with Disabilities meeting, 7 p.m. Tuesday. The commission discusses mobility updates, its role for the upcoming year and a variance for a rental building on Clarendon Hill. Public comment will be included. The meeting takes place at Somerville City Hall Annex, 50 Evergreen Ave., Winter Hill, and is watchable by Zoom videoconferencing.


Open space and recreation ideas

Open Space and Recreation Community Visioning session, 6:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday. The city is updating its Open Space & Recreation Plan and is asking the community’s opinions the programs for goal-setting. A survey is also available to take. The meetings are Wednesday at the Somerville Public Library West Branch, 40 College Ave., near Davis Square, and Thursday at in the cafeteria of the Capuano Early Childhood Center, 150 Glen St., East Somerville. A virtual meeting option will be available before February.


Council convenes

City Council, 7 p.m. Thursday. The council meets in City Hall, 93 Highland Ave.; televised and watchable by videoconferencing, and posted online after the meeting. The agenda was not posted at press time.
