The third gunfire incident of the year took place around 1 a.m. Sunday in The Port, just like the previous two, and at the same address as the most recent previous report: Washington Elms housing at 108 Harvard St.

ShotSpotter technology heard 14 rounds fired from a high-capacity magazine, according to scanner reports, and police arrived quickly to find two cars shot up and โ€œabout 50 witnesses hereโ€ to the violence.

There were no human victims, but firefighters had to come to put out a fire in one of the shot-up cars between Portland and Davis streets, according to scanner reports.

The most recent previous gunfire incident was May 7 at 108 Harvard St., where the lack of injuries continued a pattern from years past โ€“ in 2022, there were 14 gunfire incidents, all but two of which had no known or reported victims โ€“ย though this yearโ€™s first incident, also in The Port, resulted in two people being shot and seriously hurt Jan. 9

There were 55 days between the two incidents reported at Washington Elms.
