The Sunrise Cambridge youth climate activism group plans a 1 p.m. Saturday all-ages rally on Cambridge Common to create collaborative art and banners in support of the Green New Deal for Cambridge, a package of environmentally minded legislation that’s now before the City Council.
Ward 8 residents caucus March 6 to elect delegates to Democratic State Convention
Residents of Cambridge’s Ward 8 (roughly the area north and west of Harvard Square) are invited to attend a virtual caucus at 11 a.m. March 6 to elect delegates and alternates to the Democratic State Convention scheduled for June 3-4. Elected delegates and alternates may attend the Worcester convention in person or participate remotely.
Cambridge snow parking ban ends at 6 p.m.; Emergency remains in effect in Somerville
After getting an estimated 17 to 18 inches of snow Saturday, Cambridge said it is lifting its snow emergency parking ban as of 6 p.m. Sunday and asks property owners to remove snow from sidewalks. A Somerville snow emergency stays in effect for parking, but snow removal requests are similar.

Infectious disease doctors, politicians and activists plan a vigil at 4 p.m. Thursday near offices for Moderna and Pfizer, saying their practices make them rich by prolonging the pandemic in poorer countries. It comes just hours before their CEOs are due to get awards for “inspired leadership.”
Reopening of Collins branch library is delayed
The reopening of the Collins branch library in West Cambridge has been postponed due to delays in construction upgrades to the roof, gutters, and ventilation system begun Oct. 4.
