The Huron Village gourmet shop Formaggio Kitchen has had weekend outdoor barbecue popups for more than 30 years from March to October – a tradition Thrillist called a “mandatory weekly pilgrimage” and that Bon Appétit once named a top 10. Now the to-go meals, which draw big lines that make for fast sell-outs, are coming to the small chain’s Kendall Square location, which opened in 2018.

The take-away barbecue will be available from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Fridays at Formaggio Kitchen Kendall, at 94 Hampshire St., starting April 21. The meals will run until Halloween weekend, rain or shine, Formaggio leadership said Saturday.

The addition of Fridays doesn’t change the Huron Village tradition. Barbecues will keep being offered there from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays until Halloween weekend at 358 Huron Ave.

The menu is here. To celebrate the launch, the first 30 barbecue customers on April 21 will get a 10 percent-off coupon for the Kendall location, Formaggio said.
